Coach Bergman brings elite college-level instruction to youth and middle school clubs through his unique combination of playing and coaching experience.
Coach Bergman is currently an assistant coach at Harvard University. He brings 7 years of coaching experience, including the past two seasons coaching Division 1.
Following his career as a 1st Team All-American Goalie at Wesleyan University, Coach Bergman coached at the grass-roots level in Israel while pursuing his masters degree at Tel Aviv University. After graduation, he spent his first season in D1 coaching offense, and now assistant coaches the Harvard Defense and coordinates the goalies. Coach Bergman confidently coaches every position on the field. Coach Bergman is also is a certified Yoga Instructor, completing his 200 hour Yoga Teacher certification through the Yoga Alliance.
From coaching in the Ivy League to grassroots lacrosse efforts in Israel, Poland, Belgium, and Kenya, Coach Bergman's passion for developing young lacrosse players sets him apart.
We are Never Rattled. It is our brand's foundation. Every single drill in our clinics will reinforce positive body language, mental discipline, and a next play mentality.
Each session will begin with 10 minutes of dynamic stretching, and lacrosse specific warm up.
After our stretch, we will jump into 10 minutes of athletic development. The focus for this segment will be hip strength, hip flexibility, balance, explosiveness and footwork.
Next will be 15 minutes of stick skills. We start with the basics and work towards flawless fundamentals every rep. We are hyper-focused on the details during this segment.
Each session will continue with 30 minutes of station work. There will be 5 stations, and players will rotate every 6 minutes.
Dodging Station: Drills focusing on: dodging fundamentals, dodging to score, dodging to feed, dodging to space, double-move dodging
Shooting Station: Drills focusing on: shooting fundamentals, time-and-room shooting, shooting on the run, catch and shoot, shooting from X.
Feeding/Finishing Station: Drills focusing on: feeding/finishing on the crease, feeding/finishing on the wing, feeding/finishing from the alley, creative feeding/finishing, feeding/finishing in tight spaces.
Defense Station: Drills focusing on: On-Ball defense, Off-Ball posture, defensive footwork, defensive communication, slide & recovery.
Groundball Station: Drills focusing on: groundballs in space, groundballs in tight, 2v1 ground balls, groundballs to feed, groundballs to finish.
Each session will conclude with 20 minutes of game situations. We still start our first session with 2v1, and work our way up to 6v6.
Un-Even Situations: 2v1, 3v2, 4v3, 5v4, 6v5
Even Situations: 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6
We will teach the appropriate way to attack and defend each of these situations. While learning is an important piece here, we certainly will have fun during our playing phase!
